Skills Gained
Dane found creative freedom, independence and a new sense of self when he attended Griffith University – Queensland College of Arts. The Fine arts degree he studied helped him to analyze and question his world and gave him an insight into the realm of art and design. There was nobody of his equal with mouse and keyboard in hand creating graphic images.
Experience to back it up
What is a degree without a job to back it up. Dane worked for 3 media and design companies creating everything digitally imaginable over a span of 4 years. Climbing from Junior Designer to the position of Senior Designer at a fully fledged Creative Agency.
Calling the shots
Ever get the feeling you are doing all the work with no reward? This was Dane before he decided to call the shots. Dane went out on his own and started his own freelance business and networked with a collective of artists and designers who in turn created a rich client base in the artistic hub of Melbourne Australia.
What next? Invention and Collaboration
This was not enough for Dane. Encouraged by a creative scene in Melbourne and frustrated with a lack of free and humble support for artists and musicians, Dane and two members of his collective created Pretend Paper. A free listing, promotional tool, information hub and creative graffiti wall for those without financial backing to expose their creations.
It wasn’t enough
In need of perspective and fresh influences Dane stepped out of the comfort zone and moved to Japan set up shop and invested in cultural enrichment, Japanese Language skills and new opportunities. Dane now hold ties with Australia and Japan and is in a unique position to provide his individual services and skills.
